Charmaine Brooks, CRM
Charmaine Brooks CRM, ERMm, IOAM is a Certified Records Manager and has 25+ years’ experience in records and information management. She provides analysis and consultation for full lifecycle management of information and records, including all activities associated with records management functions for organizations, small to large, in a variety of industries.
Ms. Brooks develops processes, systems, and procedures for managing, tracking, classifying, and scheduling records to ensure compliance with governmental and legal requirements and has a broad base of knowledge in digital content management and integrated RM software solutions. She has co-authored books on the management of electronic records. Ms. Brooks is a certified trainer for the AIIM Electronics Records Management Certificate program and has earned the designations of ERMM and IOAM.
Arthur Gingrande, Esq. ICP, BA, MA, JD
Arthur Gingrande is a partner of IMERGE Consulting and a nationally acclaimed expert in image-based intelligent character recognition (ICR), electronic forms, and forms automation. He is a certified Image Capture Professional (ICP) and created most of the preparatory content for that designation. Before he joined IMERGE, as vice president of marketing and business development for two software development firms and later as a consultant, he developed the marketing/business plans for six of the leading software development firms in image/data capture and automated forms processing.
Since 1991, over 300 of his articles on ICR, forms automation, imaging, workflow, BPM and EDMS have been published in various industry trade journals and IT magazines. Mr. Gingrande is the author of numerous publications, including Cost-Justifying an ICR Solution and Measuring and Improving Data Entry Productivity. He is also the author of the definitive book on forms processing, Forms Automation – from ICR to Electronic Forms to the Internet, and also Processing Unstructured Documents: Challenges and Solutions, both published by AIIM, plus numerous white papers and articles for that organization.
Mr. Gingrande is a regular speaker at various industry trade shows. Together with Steve Weissman of the Holly Group, he produced the training materials for the current AIIM certification program. In 2009 Mr. Gingrande received his law degree, with a concentration in intellectual property law and electronic discovery, which now comprise the two major areas of focus in his law practice.
Greg Hugie, ERMm
Greg has over 35 years’ experience in that capacity, with the last 20 years focused on document and records management projects. Greg’s broad experience includes all facets of enterprise content management, including business process automation, workflow and ECM/ERM implementation, capture, archiving and information lifecycle management as well as the procurement of appropriate ECM and ERM technologies.
Greg also spent approximately 13 years working with Departments of Transportation in three states. In addition, Greg has managed and/or participated in over 15 city and county government projects. Prior experience includes IT Director, System Development Management, and Systems Analyst prior to starting an IT Consulting Company in the late 70s.
Jim Just, ERMm, CDIA+
Jim has over twenty years’ experience in business process redesign, ECM technologies, business process management and workflow and general information governance programs. He focuses on helping organizations attain business process optimization, using process analysis and redesign techniques, often utilizing best-of-breed technologies. Mr. Just has worked with diverse organizations including commercial, city/county governments, manufacturing, insurance, and diversified multinationals.
Jim’s diverse experience in business and computing environments gives him a unique perspective on business problems with insight into creative ways of solving them. Mr. Just specializes in assisting clients through the process of Current and Future State process analysis and design, strategic planning, practical roadmaps for implementing effective content control, and, when needed, requirements definition, technology assessment, vendor selection, and implementation oversight.
Paula Lederman, MLS, MBA
Paula has over 15 years of consulting and training experience in the field of content and information lifecycle management, in both the public and private sectors. She has extensive education and experience in a wide variety of ECM and Records Management systems including SharePoint, Open Text, Hummingbird, and Documentum.
She has recently been involved in an innovative taxonomy project in a national and global accounting firm and has implemented complex multilingual taxonomy systems using industry standards. Paula has proven project management and communication skills plus broad records, archives and library management practice, theory and implementation knowledge.
Robert Smallwood, MBA
Robert Smallwood is an industry-leading author, keynote speaker, consultant, and educator. He is a founding partner of IMERGE Consulting and heads up the Institute for Information Governance. With six books on the topic, he is the world’s leading Information Governance author, blogger, and trainer. Smallwood is author of the pioneering text Information Governance: Concepts, Strategies, and Best Practices (Wiley, 2014), and in 2016, Information Governance for Executives and Introduction to Information Governance.
Mr. Smallwood has over 25 years of experience in the information technology industry and holds an MBA from Loyola University of New Orleans. He has been recognized as one of the Top Contributors to the information governance (IG) Industry by the 2014 and 2015 Information Governance Conference. In addition to teaching IG courses, he consults with Fortune 500 companies and governments to assist them in making technology decisions and implementations.
He has published more than 100 articles and given more than 50 conference presentations on documents, records, and content management. He is also the author of Managing Electronic Records: Methods, Best Practices, and Technologies (Wiley, 2013); Safeguarding Critical E-Documents (Wiley, 2012); Taming the Email Tiger (Bacchus, 2008) and several other books, including a novel, a theatrical play, and the first published personal account of Hurricane Katrina.
Mason Grigsby, Partner Emeritus
As a Consultant, Mason Grigsby specializes in enterprise content & knowledge management-based customer service strategies that integrate information portals, legacy data, internet bill presentment and payment, customer relationship management and business intelligence systems. He has significant experience in negotiating strategic partnerships in this industry. IBM, Kodak, Bell & Howell, Unisys Corporation, Canon USA, Philips Corporation and Tab Products Company are representative of the corporate OEM relationships that he has negotiated.
He co-founded two companies, which developed enterprise content management software and turnkey solutions. He is credited with the development of the first commercially available turnkey document image system in 1983 and the first turnkey Computer/Output to Laser Disk system in 1986. The software, which he pioneered, helped launch what is now the electronic document industry. One of the early systems that he conceived won the first annual Computerworld/Smithsonian award for innovative business technology and is on permanent display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
Janis “Jan” Adams, CRM
Ms. Adams is a Certified Records Manager with 30+ years of experience in the professional records and information management field with extensive experience in developing and managing the full lifecycle of records and information. She was instrumental in developing and managing the corporate-wide records management program for Albertsons, a major retail chain, overseeing corporate records acquisition and divestiture projects, and working with all levels of corporate management.
As both a corporate records manager and a consultant, she has been responsible for developing or updating records retention policies, schedules, classification schemes, file plans, and taxonomies. Her experience includes processes and procedures for tracking company records, inventorying and classifying large records inventories, RIM software implementation, employee training, records storage planning and relocations and other related activities.
Bernard Chester, PMP
Mr. Chester has been involved with content management systems for over twenty five years assisting in the creation of products and solutions for clients in a range of industries. He is often retained to plan and define the requirements for improving document and records processing. He has participated in many data communications, records management & enterprise content management standards development projects. He most enjoys bridging the distance between technology and business requirements to make lasting improvements.
Fred Diers, CRM, FAI
Fred, with 43 years of executive records and information governance knowledge and experience, is currently a Principle with IMERGE Consulting. Fred has a distinguished career being both a practitioner and consultant for multi-national organizations. Fred has successfully developed and implemented compliant, realistic and flexible records and information governance programs for midsize local organization to global enterprises.
He has promoted the RIM profession on a global scale through countless presentations to diverse audiences. He is Past President of ARMA International and received the Emmett Leahy Award, the highest award for individual achievement and innovation in the RIM profession. Fred was inducted into the Company of Fellows in 1991 as Fellow #9.
Mary Haider, CRM, MBA
Mary W. Haider, CRM MBA and Principal with Imerge Consulting has over 35 years of records and information management experience both as a practitioner, vendor and consultant. She has worked in both government and corporate environments where she has designed and implemented new records and information management programs for both active and inactive business records and information.
Mary’s key strengths are built on “laying the foundation for a comprehensive RIM Program for all media and formats”. This includes RIM Program development, governance, staffing, training; and, a strong collaboration effort with legal, compliance, facilities, security and business functional units. Mary’s coaching and training skills encourage the transfer of knowledge and understanding to help ensure a sustainable RIM Program.
Karen Payne, CRM, MBA
With 25 years’+ experience as a consultant in records and information management and information governance (IG), Karen’s diverse experience in business and records management environments makes her proficient at file plan and records classification development, retention schedule creation and implementation, and other aspects of IG.
Her background includes policy development, change management facilitation, training, social media, marketing, and public speaking. Karen has developed comprehensive IG training programs which bring value to clients seeking compliance with, and adherence to, ARMA’s Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles®.
